This series consists of subject correspondence files related to the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe. The records include reports; letters received and copies of letters sent; certifications; a homestead application and related affidavit; corrections; inventories; memorandums; grant applications; postcards; agendas; guidelines; procedures; lists of Indian names and Indian allottees; blank forms; contracts; farm leases; telegrams; maps and plats; releases of claims; and copies of legislative acts and bills. The correspondents include the Flandreau School and Agency, and attorneys for the Sioux Nation. Financial records include budget and cash flow analyses; vouchers; invoices; and receipts. The records include a project plan and preliminary proposal for the Flandreau Reorganization Project, with related photographs; rules and regulations issued by the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, related to financial assistance for education of children with disabilities; "National Indian Water Policy Review," issued by the Bureau of Indian Affairs in 1978; and "Resource Inventory of the Missouri Mainstem River Basin," issued by the South Dakota Department of Natural Resource Development.
